Airsys and Shell Showcase Spray Liquid Cooling for Data Centers at OCP Global Summit

Companies Provide Live Demonstration of a Simpler Liquid Cooling Architecture for Retrofit, Edge, and Mid-Density AI Infrastructure

WOODRUFF, S.C., Oct. 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Airsys, a global leader in mission-critical cooling for data centers, AI and high-performing digital infrastructure, and Shell Lubricants, the world's leading supplier of finished lubricants, are teaming up to demonstrate the next generation of liquid cooling at 2026 OCP Global Summit, which takes place October 12-15 in San Jose, California.

To showcase the companies’ joint work in liquid cooling for data centers, Shell liquid cooling fluid will be used inside the patented spray liquid cooling system from Airsys. This rack-level liquid cooling platform is engineered to simplify deployment for mid-density AI, data center, telecom, and edge environments.

As operators move beyond the limits of traditional air cooling, many face a gap between incremental upgrades and infrastructure-heavy liquid cooling systems. This architecture addresses that gap to increase rack density by streamlining how liquid cooling is deployed, scaled, and maintained.

Spray-based server-level cooling delivers targeted heat removal from CPUs and GPUs, improving thermal efficiency, and maintaining consistent performance. The approach uses up to 80% less dielectric fluid than immersion systems, minimizing fluid handling and operational complexity. In addition, the cassette-based architecture supports retrofit and new-build environments with scalable, serviceable, and incremental deployment without large-scale facility redesign.

This live demonstration will take place during an OCP Liquid & Immersion Community Outreach event titled, “Keeping it Liquid: Forever Fluids” on Wednesday, October 14. The event brings the liquid and immersion cooling community together including the operators, fluid chemists, OEMs, and the people specifying all of it. Through a clear cassette designed specifically for demonstration, attendees will see a live, running server being cooled with spray liquid cooling technology from Airsys, and cooling fluid from Shell.
